Grant Criteria

For grants to worthy causes in Chile

We are an apolitical, areligious organisation. The Executive Committee reserves the right to reject projects that do not adhere to this policy.

Our objective is helping persons resident in Chile who are in conditions of hardship or distress. As our resources are limited, we aim to make grants which have a high impact for causes which are less likely to receive help from major donors. Grant applications should:

  1. Clearly identify the nature of the applicant, including legal status, financial resources and ability to complete the project.

  2. Specify the persons or community requiring assistance.

  3. Explain if there is any connection to the Anglo Chilean population in Chile.

  4. Identify the actual need and specify the amount of grant needed.

  5. Explain clearly how the need will be met.

  6. Note - Generally, our help is targeted at the post-disaster recovery phase rather that at the actual disaster.

  7. Disclose any assistance already received from the Society or other sources for this need.

  8. Undertake to report back to the Society on the outcome of the help given.

  9. Provide any proof of the success or otherwise of the project as may be requested by the Society.
