Summary

Paula and Paulina, an affluent lesbian couple, are sharing a final day together at their beachfront summer home in Santo Domingo. But the unexpected arrival of Gaston, a young guest from the previous night's party, interrupts their intimate farewell. As the intruder's unsettling presence becomes increasingly malevolent, tensions within the couple's relationship begin to surface and a shocking transformation is triggered.

This powerful psychological thriller offers an unflinching look at Chilean society, exploring inequality, class conflict and attitudes towards race, gender and sexuality. The debut feature from writer-director Jorge Riquelme Serrano, Chameleon was nominated for the Sutherland Award for the most original and innovative first feature at the BFI London Film Festival and received a record eleven nominations at the Pedro Sienna Chilean film awards, winning Best Director, Best Actress (Paulina Urrutia) and Best Original Music. Shot in only a few days, it features an award-winning soundtrack from acclaimed musician and composer Carlos Cabezas (Neruda, The Club, NO).
