It was a wonderful privilege to have Chilean poet Elvira Hernandez at the Embassy on Friday 29th June 2018. We talked about the contested nature of "feminine poetry", about writing from a position of trauma and repression, and about her work “La Bandera de Chile”, which was launched in the UK in a set of unique, handmade editions by La Joyita Editorial.
As the recent recipient of the Iberoamerican Poetry Award Pablo Neruda 2018, we are incredibly proud to have hosted her.
The Anglo Chilean Society on behalf of Alan Macdonald Endowment has donated £1.100 towards the symposium.
