British experts visit Chile to participate in international workshop on lithium

The Embassy in Santiago collaborated with IWLiME to support 6 UK researchers and industry representatives that participated in the workshop.

The 5th International Workshop on Lithium, Industrial Minerals and Energy (IWLiME) took place in Santiago on 1 to 3 October. The event was organised by the:

  • British Embassy

  • Universidad de Antofagasta

  • Lithium and Industrial Materials Advanced Research Centre (CELIMIN)

  • Universidad Católica del Norte

  • Universidad de Santiago

The Embassy in Santiago collaborated with the IWLiME organisers to support the 6 UK researchers and industry representatives that participated in the workshop. They were:

  • Dr. Clare Grey, Professor and Researcher, Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge / Member of the Faraday Institution

  • Dr. Sai Shivareddy, Director of Batteries, Talga Research

  • Dr. Evi Petavratzi, Senior Mineral Commodity Geologist, British Geological Survey

  • Dr. Christopher Broadbent, Fellow and Research Director at Wardell Armstrong. The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3)

  • Martin Rosser, CEO, Alexander Mining

  • Dr. Nicholas Welham, Technical Consultant, Alexander Mining
